UnitReplacement
The regulations regarding consumer units often change, to keep them as safe as possible moving forward. This doesn’t mean that you need to update/upgrade your consumer unit immediately. As long as the one fitted was up to standard for the regulations when it was installed, and it is still safe, then that is fine to stay.
As we progress with technology though, it is well worth looking in to what new types of consumer units are available, as it is sometimes cheaper to replace the entire unit rather than upgrading your current unit. We will only install surge protected consumer units with RCBO’s per circuit. Surges can and will damage/destroy certain electrical items, such as fridge freezers, computers and TV’s to name a few. RCBO’s will protect the circuit and you.
We will complete the consumer unit replacement, test all the circuits and clean up before we leave.

Guidance Notes
Location
We will need clear access to the consumer unit in order to carry out this replacement, we have no problems with moving some furniture around, but larger items may need to be moved prior to our arrival.
Carpets and Dust
When we remove the original consumer unit some dust/debris may fall from the current fittings. New fittings will be drilled out too, causing small amounts of dust and debris. This of course will be cleaned up prior to our departure.
